With utmost reverence & gratitude to the Almighty for abundantly blessing the executive committee of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam, Santacruz.
The executive committee of our sakhyam worked together as one team in conducting various activities throughout the year & also supported most of the centre programs.
YS Meetings are held on every Sunday after the Holy Qurbana. These meetings were conducted under the leaders of both our Achen’s. Around 20-30 YS members have been attending the meetings till date. Prayers, Bible Study, Sakhyam, Sermon, Debates, Quiz, Songs, and Games are the various programs conducted during our Ys gatherings.
There were 3 committee meetings which were held during the year 2017-18 to take up various topics. We have received guidance and lot of support & co-operation from the Parish office bearers and various organization of our Parish. We express our gratitude for the same.
In the Mumbai Diocese, and in Mumbai Centre Yuvajana Sakhyam programmes, our sakhyam members take active participation. We had the preveliage to host the Centre Kalamela of the year 2017-18. Our sakhyam members actively participated & won prizes. Our members had taken the initiatives and responsibilities to make the programme a huge success.
Yuvajana Sakhyam of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Santacruz, Mumbai is one of the most prominent organization of our parish our YS members actively participate in the Holy Qurbana by getting involved in the Sunday service by leading the Choir, Assisting in the Altar, Bible Reading, Giving Sermon, etc.
Lime Juice program is an initiative of our A.T. Zachariah Achen which was whole heartedly taken by our Yuvajana Sakhyam. Yuvajana Sakhyam provides free Lime Juice to all parish members after the Holy Qurbana during the month of April-May 2017.
The Inauguration of the year plan of all programs for STMYS was held on 14th May 2017 after the Holy Qurbana under the leadership of our Rev. A. T. Zechariah & Rev. Nitin John Chacko. The Chief dignitary of the day was our very own Mrs. Esther Varghese.
We have registered with Kendra Yuvajana Sakhyam, Thiruvalla this year too. During the report year we have 59 registered members.
Yuvajana Sakhyam members take great initiatives to ordinary service on the 5th Sunday services.
Marriage wishes were given to all the newly wedded of the Sakhyam. Our Ex. Lady Secretary Reenu Thomas Got Married to Mr Philip, Panvel Mar Thoma Church and our active member Sharon Elsa Raju got married to Mr Liju Mar Thoma Church Mallapally. We wish the newly married couples a very blessed married life.
Mankudam an initiative to support the children's of navjeevan, was inaugurated by our Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Theethos Episcopa on10th Dec’16. 100 Mankudam were distributed to various families of our Parish. The 1st Mankudam was broken on 15th Oct’17 during the Holy Qurbana and we are very happy to inform that with the generous contributions of our parish members, On 21st Jan’18, a cheque of Rs.1,00,001/- was handed over to the Navjeevan Center Director , Rev. Jinu Eapen and another cheque for Rs.6500/- on 29th Mar’18 at the Navjeevan Center office by One of the Mankudum Convener Mr. John George & Parish Ceretary Mr Jiji Eapen Cherian. We would like to appreciate the Mankudam Conveners Mr. John George & Ms. Jinta Jose, for all their efforts.
This year also we have celebrated the Onam Fest. On 16th Sep 2017, a public meeting was organized. The Meeting Presided over by the Vicar/President Rev. A.T. Zachariah. Mr. A.P. Kurian,
One of the veteran's of the Mutual Fund and Ex Chairman of The Unit Trust of India was the chief guest for the evening and had delivered the Onam Message. The well-organized Cultural proramme had active participation from all the organizations of the parish with Onam Songs, Music, Dance, Skit etc... Attractive prizes were distributed to the winners of the games and also for the academic excellence. A Grand Onam Sadhya was served to the 300 plus people who attended the programme. We express our thanks to all who made it possible the Onam Feast 2017 a memorable one.
On 15 Oct’17 was celebrated as the Yuvajana Sakhyam Sunday. All Youths actively participated in both the English & Malayalam Holy Qurbana under the guidance of both our Achens.
