Sunday School

Sunday School started with the teacher’s dedication on 8th January 2017. The classes were held as per the schedule on the same day. Children’s Diocesan Convention was held on 15th January 2017 at CIDCO Centre, Vashi. “You are the Master Piece” was the theme. Mr. Dilip Salian and team were the main leaders. Talent competition of our church was held on 19th February 2017. Those children who secured 1st and 2nd prize represented the Centre talent competition. The Centre talent competition was held on 15th April 2017 at St. John’s Mar Thoma Church Mira Road (East, Mumbai. The Diocesan talent competition was held on 10th June 2017 at Chembur Mar Thoma Church. 5 children participated at the competition. Mst. Anpin Roy secured 1st prize at the junior level for elocution at the Diocesan level.

• The Sunday School closed for summer vacation on 23rd April 2017. AGM was held on the same day. Sunday School re-opened on 11th June 2017. Our annual day and prize distribution was held on 13th August 2017. Many of our children did various programs like skit, song, memory verses recitation etc. Teachers also presented a skit titled “God’s Bountiful Love”. Senior children presented a skit narrating the importance of Sunday School in their lives.
• VBS leaders training camp was held on 12th and 13th August 2017 at St. John’s Mar Thoma Church, Mira road (East). Mrs. Esther Varghese attended the camp. One day teachers’ training was held at Emmanuel Mar Thoma Church Borivali (West) on 15th August 2017 from 9 am to 5 pm. Rev. Ninu Chandy- General Secretary of the Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam was the main leader. All the Sunday school teachers attended the training programme.
• VBS of our parish was held from 16th October to 22nd October 2017. The theme for this year’s VBS was “Thy Kingdom Come”- Mathew 6:10. Our directors were Mr. John Abraham from Chembur Mar Thoma Parish and Ms. Reena Abraham from Goregaon Mar Thoma Parish, Mumbai.
• Annual Exam was held on 19th November 2017 and Birudh Exam & Teachers Exam was held on 4th December 2017. Master Anpin Roy , Juniors class secured the top position at Diocese level by scoring 97 marks for the Birudh examination held on 4th December 2017.
• Our Sunday School students participated as Junior Choir for Christmas Carols on 23rd December 2017.
• We are very much indebted to the parents for their prayers and support in bringing their children regularly to Sunday School. We thank our Achens, Rev. A.T. Zachariah and Rev. Nitin John Chacko for their great support and guidance at all times. We praise and thank God for enabling us to continue in His footsteps to bring our children into His Kingdom
