Senior Fellowship

Late Rev. Dr. Oommen   Koruth, then vicar of the parish collected a small group of elderly people to have fellowship in 1976. This is the humble beginning of Senior’s Fellowship of the parish which now spread   to almost all parishes of Mar Thoma Sabha.  Those who have the age of 60 years and above are eligible to be the members of the fellowship.

Regular meetings were held on third Friday of the month at Church. Cottage meetings were also arranged in the houses of members at their request.  Bible studies, Discussion, Intercessory prayers, Solos, Duets, Discussions, Bible Quiz, Thought for the day, Games, etc. were some of the events held during the meetings.

Special Holy Communion service for short duration was conducted   on every second Saturday of each month for the convenience of the senior members.  Holy Communion was also arranged at the residence for senior members, at their request, who were sick and old and not able to attend any of the Holy Communion services held in Church.

House visit to old, sick and bereaved members was conducted at various areas on various dates under the leadership of our Vicar/President Rev. A. T. Zachariah.  Individual and group visits were also held.      

The Senior Fellowship Sunday was observed on 17 Sep 2017 under the leadership of Senior Members.   

Our members were very active in all the activities of Centre Senior Fellowship.  Rev A. T. Zachariah, Mr. K. S. Varghese, Mr. K. T. Thomas and Mrs. Annamma Thomas were members of the Managing Committee of Mumbai Centre Senior Fellowship.  Mr. K. S. Varghese is the Hon. Treasurer of Mumbai Diocesan Senior Fellowship. Rev. A. T. Zachariah and Mr. K. S. Varghese are in the editorial board of the Treasure Pot.

Mumbai Centre Senior Fellowship conducted an Annual Camp from 07 Feb 18 to 10 Feb 18 at Marthoma   Dhyanatheeram, Peringalam, Ashtamudi, Kollam, Kerala followed by attending the Maramon Convention 2018 held from   11 Feb to 18 Feb 2018.   9 members from our parish attended the camp. A one-day meeting for Senior Fellowship at Diocesan level was also organized on 09 Dec 2017 under the leadership of our Diocesan Bishop   at MTC Mulund in which our members also attended.

We are thankful to our Achensfor the guidance for their valuable guidance and leadership.  We thank the Parish Office Bearers and Executive Committee Members for the support extended to us. Above all, the Senior Fellowship thanks and praise the Almighty Lord for His blessings in its various activities during 2017-18.
