Dedication of Bassein Chapel by the then Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Alexander Mar Theophilus Episcopa on 06-01-1974. Worship Service began in February at Goregaon for members of the Goregaon prayer group. Parish Library Inaugurated. Four adults baptized at our Church by Late Rev. C. G. David on 29-09-1974.

The First Ordination, ever, of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church celebrated in Bombay, at our Church on 24th February 1973. Our Asst. Vicar Deacon George Jacob (now the Rt. Rev. Marthomites in Chembur, Vasinaka and Mankhurd areas were permitted to function as an independent parish by the name Mar Thoma Church, Chembur from July 1968.
